Houston’s Urban Nutcracker delivers a twist on the original holiday production by showcasing Houston’s diverse ethnic culture and theatrical talent. The mission of this production is to provide a cultural experience through artistic expression that builds confidence, inspires hope, transforms lives, and promotes camaraderie among the citizens of Houston.
This new holiday tradition is produced by Culture Arts Initiative, Inc. (CAI) which is a non-profit organization that has awarded over $100,000 in dance tuition scholarship awards to underserved and underrepresented dancers since its inception in 2013.
In 2018, Houston's Urban Nutcracker was so popular that, after selling-out two performances in 48 hours, CAI had to add additional performance to meet demand. As preparation for our fifth season begins, CAI is asking you or your organization to consider becoming a corporate sponsor.
As an elite donor, you will help bring an expertly choreographed show, featuring both professional dancers and youth dancers from ages six years-old and beyond, to the stage.
